Wyldwood Arts

Since moving back to the Forest of Dean in 2020 I have built a strong ongoing relationship with Wyldwood Arts as part of their network of Associate Artists. I have been involved in several projects in a wide range of roles, and always look forward to what’s coming next!

Some highlight projects have included:

In 2021 I was involved as a project assistant on creation of The Mushets audio play, working with the creative team led by director Rachel Adams and the cast of actors from across the local community. Together we explored this fascinating piece of local history, explored the real-life figures behind the play’s characters and had recording sessions in a variety of locations, including the woodland around Darkhill Ironworks!

In 2021 and 2022 I was involved as an assistant in a series of free community workshops across a wide range of artforms as part of both the Community Banner Making and The Meeting Place projects, encouraging connection and sharing creativity after a difficult few years of lockdown.

In 2023 I undertook a period of research and consultation to inform the development of the ‘What’s on FOD‘ community resource website, reaching out to a range of event organisers, community groups and varied demographics who call the Forest home to find out what they would find most helpful from the site.

From late 2023 through to early 2024 I was engaged as an Associate Producer for the FOD Fringe 2024 Festival, assigned to support the delivery of a performance by local poetry collective Poets in Progress. Together they had written the prose poetry script ‘A Night at The Bardic Arms’ and needed support to recruit and audition cast members, market the show and various other production tasks.
