Core Skills

Producing

Producing is a term with a broad range of skills under it – I should know, I have a Masters degree in it!

As a producer, my core skills are in logistics – making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time with everything they need to thrive creatively.

I am also very interested in overall strategy, creative placemaking and community building.

Facilitating

Over the past few years I have building my skills as a facilitator, both leading and assisting in workshops across various disciplines and with a range of different participants.

I love enabling and supporting people in their own creativity, and am keen to continue to build my practice in this area.

Creating

Some of my happiest times have been in the thick of the creative process – the magic alchemy that happens when a group of people come together to create a story or experience.

Though my practice took a slight divergence from this for a few years, I’m excited to get back to devising theatre exploring my own creativity some more, as well as supporting others in theirs.

Core Interests

Community

I truly believe that stronger communities are the antidote to a lot of the challenges of the 21st Century – from various bigotries and ‘isms’, to the mental health epidemic and cost of living crisis – tackling all of these is so much easier with good connections around us.

Folklore

I’m a keen folklorist and Border Morris dancer. In particular, I’m drawn to the unique traditions of the Welsh Marches, digging deeper than 19th Century reconstructionism and how new traditions are born. I’m keen to start incorporating my folklore interest into my wider creative practice.

Nature

I’m a country bumpkin at heart, and am generally happiest when jumping into wild waterfalls or exploring feral forests. There’s something deeply cleansing and connecting about being out in nature, and especially about getting creative in wild places.
